Suspension Studies on Granular Starch Slurries

An inspection of the required impeller speed to maintain minimum suspension of granular starch in baffled vessels was carried out. The types of impellers studied are the marine propeller, the straight blade turbine and the pitched blade turbine. The study shows that the impeller off-bottom distance is an important parameter for all types of impeller studied.
