Abstract:This paper presents the 1000 m class large span stranded AS conductors crossing the Hanjiang River at Wangjiatan and the 2000 m class large span high strength Al alloy conductors extra high steel reinforced crossing the Yantze River at Wuhu, both are part of the Longzheng ±500 kV DC transmission line. It describes the key manufcturing technology and solutions, properties of the raw materials required for the conductors and combination of properties required for the large span conductors.
