Abstract:
In this work the decomposition of soot by NOx and ozone at low temperatures was investigated. The assumption of a 3-stage process of the soot decomposition by ozone was proved using XPS (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy). The supposed decomposition of soot by NOx was found to be secondary at least in the temperature range of about 160 °C.
