Abstract:The ternary plastic alloy based on polybutylene terephthalate (PBT),polycarbonate (PC) and thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) is a new generation of thePBT-based plastic alloy.The TPA-59 is a representative plastic alloy for PBT/PC/TPE ternary polymer alloys optimized with the special experimental design.The Performances of the sliding friction and wear of the TPA-59 under unlubri-cared condition have been investigated.The experiments were carried out with pin-on-disc tribometer under different tribological parameter:loads,sliding velocities,sliding distances and surface roughnesses of counter-part.It was found that thewear rate of TPA-59 is similar to that of some polymer bearing materials.
