Hydraulic Test Block Valves Applied to Reheater System of Once-through Boilers

In view of the frequent bursting of boiler reheater roof-passing tubes for Units 5 and 6 in Huangpu Power Plant and the difficulty in leakage detection, hydraulic test block valves were added to cold and hot steam piping sections of reheater to facilitate the detection of leakage points. The block valve structural features, working principle, installation positions, type selection and points for attention during installation are described. Practical application shows that the method enables timely discovery of latent leakage troubles existing in reheater and improves the security and reliability of boiler equipment.
