Abstract:A new electron source,which is the high temperature Ar corona space(HTACS),has empirically found in fluorescent lamp(FL) tubes.The HTACS is formed on the heated bear metal spot in the W-filament coils with BaO small particles.The electrons that are taken from the HTACS on the cathode electrode in negative potential move on in Ar gas space toward to the HTACS on the anode electrode in positive potential.In lighted FL tubes,the streamer electrons from HTACS irradiate on the bear metal spot during the positive potential and do not irradiate on the spot of the negative potential in the operation of the ac voltage.The heated BaO particles at nearby heated bare metal spots in the W-filament coils retain the temperature of the HTACS in ac operation,even with 50 Hz(10 ms).
