| Abstract: | Representative brands of Navy-approved class A brick (60% alumina), class B brick (superduty), and special firebrick (in a price group above the 60% alumina brick) were installed in a naval boiler operating continuously at the Naval Boiler and Turbine Laboratory. The permanent volume change of the various brands, subjected to repeated reheat tests at 2912°F., is compared with their service life. |
