Preparation and properties of ultraviolet fluorescence bismaleimide resin composite

Abstract:Ultraviolet fluorescence resin composites can be used to manufacture sacrificial layers of large components in aeronautics and astronautics, for the purpose of reducing the use of shims in assembly and avoiding cutting the structural layers by the fluorescent of sacrificial layers. Ultraviolet fluorescence bismaleimide resin and T700/ultraviolet fluorescence bismaleimide resin were prepared using hot melt method. T700/ultraviolet fluorescence bismaleimide resin composite laminate was prepared using autoclave. Resins and composite laminates without phosphor, and with 1.8% and 3.0% contents phosphor are systematically studied in the aspect of microstructure, physicochemical properties and thermal expansion coefficient. The results show that the laminates of composites display fluorescence under ultraviolet lamp, and the blue light emitted by laminates can be seen clearly. The crosslinked network of the resin matrix after adding phosphor coincides well with the resin containing no phosphor, however its activity decreased. The glass transition temperature of resin casting body with phosphor was about 3% lower than that of resin casting without phosphor. After adding phosphor, the tensile strength in weft direction and inter-laminar shear strength of composite laminate have no significant change. The thermal expansion coefficient of composite laminate after adding phosphor decreased by 12.14% at most compared with that without phosphors.
