： The research in dynamically extension technique can resolve many difficult problems，which have been for a long time in operating system design．The problems including How to improve the performance of application while ensuring the safety of the system，How to improve the flexibility of OS，How to contain and manage the ever－increasing complexity of OS implementations．The paper first introduces many dynamically extension technique and does classifying．Then it evaluates the influences which different extension technique does on the performance and security of OS．Finally the paper analyzes the research content and puts forward the research issues to be solved．
