Measures to shorten the time of clearing short-circuit faults on 10kV bus

This paper enumerates the most possible causes of short-circuit faults on 10kV bus in transformer substation,discusses the hazards of the short-circuit current on 10kV bus to switch cabinet and main transformer,the necessity and three methods to shorten the clearing time of fault are put forward. It includes shortening the clearing time of the transformer protection,equipping simple bus differential protection,and equipping arc protection. The disadvantage and shortcomings of these three methods and their applicability are compared,and the application in Dongguan Power Supply Bureau is introduced.
