| Abstract: | Simple analytical expressions are given for the oscillation frequency, linewidth, FM noise spectrum and frequency modulation characteristics of a diode laser with external grating feedback. The analytical expressions are found to be in good agreement with experimental results and to be useful for quantitative predictions and optimisations of the external feedback controlled diode laser performance. |
