摘    要:相比于固体和化学激光器,半导体抽运碱金属蒸气激光器以其极高的量子效率、气体介质易于流动散热、高光束质量、不存在单口径功率限制、安全可靠等优点显示出极大的优势和良好的发展潜力。概述了碱金属激光器的基本原理和最新研究进展,分析了高功率定标放大可能遇到的障碍和解决途径,并预测了未来的发展趋势。

Abstract:By contrast with solid and chemical laser, the laser diode pumped alkali laser (DPAL) has shown great predominance and potential because of its extremely high quantum efficiency, outstanding heat dissipation ability, high beam quality, no limit of single aperture power scaling and safe operation. The basic principle and recent research development of DPAL are introduced, the obstacles and solutions of high power scaling of DPAL are analysed, and the expectation of DPAL development is made.
