| Abstract: | The luminescence of several rare-earth activators in the new compounds Gd2BaZnO5 and La2BaZnO5 is reported and discussed. Activation with the Eu3+ ion yields highly efficient red-emitting phosphors. Some unknown structural details can be derived from the luminescence spectra. |
