Abstract:This paper introduced the distribution of the deep mines and the state of research on deep mining in the world. On this basis, the authors propose the ideas of changing the traditional mining methods, which can make use of the three disadvantage factors in deep mining : high stress, high temperature, and high mining depth. In order to realize the new ideas, some main research topics that will be facing on deep mining of metal and nonferrous materials are summarized.
