| Abstract: | Objective: To provide references for the development and utilization of cistanche as ingredient of health food by summarizing the application of cistanche as ingredient in health food. Methods: To introduce the chemical constituents, the pharmacological mechanism and the safety evaluation of cistanche. To analyse the application of cistanche in health food by summarizingthe approved health food which composed ofcistanche.Results and Conclusion:Cistanche has a variety of health functions.The development of health food with cistanche as ingredient has broad prospect. |
