Abstract:A new high pressure rotary seal design is developed and tested inthe rigs.The pressure distribution within the cylindrical seal gap and leakagerate has been calculated by both Finite Element Method and Theorem of Hydro-dynamic Lubrication,leakage rote and friction torque,a novel test rig has beenbuilt.Experimental results demonstrated the exclusive coincidence of test dateWith the theoretical calculations,and indicated the great importance of lip secti-on in the sealing process.
