| Abstract: | In this work gels and glasses, in immiscible region of CaO-SiO2 system were prepared by sol-gel process. TG. DTA and IK spectra of the gels were measured and gelling time of the sols was determined under different conditions. The experimental results showed that under acidic condition all the samples of various compositions in CaO-SiO2 system have a minimum gelling time which decreases with the increase of CaO content. Hydrolysis-polymerization, gel-to-glass process were also investigated. |
