| Abstract: | Songliao Basin is a expanding and rifted basin which was formed in Mesozoic era. There are rich deposits of oil and coal in Mesozoic formation of the basin. Each stage of the evolution and development in the basin is occupied by various geological events as Yanshan Movement, tectonism, volcanic activity, palaeoclimate jump and anoxic event etc. These geological events display the characteristics of polycycle in the basin's evolution and development. The dialectical unity of regular pattern and randomness of geological events rhythm controls the organic match of factors as generation, reservation, sealing, migration, trapping, conservation etc. of the hydrocarbon generation system. So the study on the relationship between rhythmic changes of geological events and hydrocarbon generation, reservation and sealing is of great importance in directing hydrocarbon exploration in the basin. |
