The present article describes the waste liquid desulfurization treatment unit in Jilin's 115000 tpy ethylene plant. Since 1982, treatment of sulfur-containing waste liquid has been changed from the original neutralization process to a catalytic oxidation process using polyphthaloeyanine cobalt. The operation of the treatment unit in the past eight years has proved that this improvement is a major technical break-through in the field of treatment of sulfur-containing waste liquid in ethylene plants, and that the target of long-term operation of waste liquid desulfurization treatment unit in ethylene plant has been achieved.
