Abstract: | This paper describes the initial test results obtained from a newly developed piece of equipment that has the ability to cause metal dusting at pressures of up to 5 MPa. In this work, the phenomenon of metal dusting has been studied at pressures of 1, 2 and 3 MPa at temperatures between 450°C and 650°C. It was shown that the atmosphere and test conditions were capable of producing metal dusting in test specimens made of Type 316 stainless steel. Initial results indicate that increasing pressure and temperature increases the attack. |
