| Abstract: | This paper reports the results of broadcast field test on the VSB transmission system designed and build by HDTV Grand Alliance,USA.The test was conducted by the FCC's Advisery Committee on Advanced Television Service.The broadcast results indicated that GAHDTV transmission system performance was significantly better than NTSC' In UHF band,satisfactory receptionfor HDTV was found at 92% of locations compared to 76% for NTSC.InVHF band,HDTV satisfactorily received as twice as many locations as NTSC.The HDTVaverage power was 12dB below than the NTSC peak power. |
