| Abstract: | We propose a simple calculation of near-field magneto-optical (MO) images based on the beam propagation method. We calculate both Faraday rotation and circular dichroism contrasts of planar magnetic structures such as as-grown thin films and ion-irradiated samples. High-contrast near-field MO images are obtained, in good agreement with our experimental observations. |
