Abstract:A series of solid ternary complexes[Ln(Phen) 2(Fu)(NO 3)](NO 3) 2(Ln=Y, La, Ce, Nd, Sm, Gd, Ho, Phen=1,10 phenanthroline, Fu=5 fluorouracil) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductivity, IR and 13 C NMR spectra. The preliminary biological activity studies in vitro indicate that lanthanum complex has a good anti cancer activity. These complexes can be considered as an example of study for the more complicated lanthanide nucleic acid interactions.
