Abstract: | The 2004 Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in Psychology in the Public Interest is awarded to Florence L. Denmark. She is recognized for her efforts to help legitimize the psychology of women by teaching the first doctoral psychology course in the field and through her scholarly texts and articles. She continues to have an impact on the psychology of women through her journal editorial memberships, her writing of articles for books and journals, her television and newspaper interviews, and through her mentoring activities.
