Abstract: | An apparatus for vertical slab gel electrophoresis of proteins is described. Up to four slabs of variable thickness may be used in a single run for the analysis of as many as 80 samples if the apparatus is used for one-dimensional electrophoresis; alternatively, the slabs may be used for a second-dimension separation of proteins previously discriminated in tubular gels or slab gel strips. The apparatus is simple in design, easy to use, and inexpensive to construct. |
