| Abstract: | In the transitional period from an engineering - oriented university to a comprehensive one, it has become inevitable for such a university to attach great importance to the development of humanities and social sciences. This paper discusses the significance and constraints in the development of humanities and social sciences in engineering - oriented universities during the transitional period and explores some approaches and some strategies in this field. |
