不同量化比特数对超高清图像质量损伤的影响研究

摘    要:通过挑选比较严格的超高清视频测试序列,采用x264压缩编码软件,计算量化比特数为10和8的各序列在不同码率下的PSNR值,以此来研究不同量化比特数对超高清图像质量损伤的影响。由实验数据得出,同一序列在同一码率下,量化比特数为10相比量化比特数为8的序列的PSNR高0.7 dB左右,也即量化比特数为10的序列相对量化比特数为8的序列码率节省5%~20%左右。

Abstract:In this paper, the PSNR value of the same Ultra High Definition video sequences with the bit depth of 10 and 8 are computed and compared for researching on the influence of different bit depth for Ultra High Definition image quality. Firstly, four 4k-Ultra High Definition video sequences are chosen as test sequences. Then they are encoded to different target bitrates using x264 compression encoding software, and after that the PSNR values are obtained. The experiment results show that the achieved PSNR using 10-bit encoding is almost 0.7 dB higher than using 8-bit encoding with the same sequence at the same bitrate. This translates to an average bit-rate saving of about 5% and up to 20%, while retaining the same video quality.
