| Abstract: | Two series of poly(n butyl acrylate)/polystrene composite emulsion were synthesized by batch and batch semibatch method respectively. The morphologies of particles were characterized by TEM and TBA. The effects of feeding methods of shell monomer, and emulsifier amount and weight fraction on morphology were discussed. The composite emulsion particles synthesized by batch semibatch show core shell structure clearly, whereas the paricles synthesized by batch method have no core shell structure and the size of particles increases with the increasement of emulsifier amount. The compatibility of PBA and PS was improved in composite emulsion. |
