| Abstract: | Based on the now available information of temperature variation in structure and by use of the continuous membrane, this paper presents the formula for calculating the vertical deflection and the related restraint member force caused by vertical temperature variation in highrise building structures. The boundary condition has to consider temperature effects of the highrise building structure and proposals to reduce and control the temperature effects are given as well. |
