Design and research of streaming media video storage server

The role and functions ofvideo storage server in video surveillance system are analyzed.After analyzing of the disadvantages of traditional streaming media time-fixed storage mode,the storage strategy named"storage space-fixed"is carried out.In the new storage strategy,the total storage space is initialized to a number of fixed-size data files;the streaming media stored in each data file may not be the same length.The solution to the questions such as"1 second tail"and"events tail" of the new strategy is put forward.Although the new storage strategy increased the complexity of the index.but it can give an effective way to avoid the disk fragmentations and play an important role in improving the performance of streaming video storage server.
