Guangxi Luzhai 400 kt/a pyrite-based sulphuric acid plant, as an introduced project on OECF, is de-scribed. It adopted a "two-head and one-tail" process configuration including Dorr-Oliver's roasting technique with cinder cooling and Siry Chamon's sulphuric acid technology with "2+2" double convention and tree-tower and tree-tank absorption. All the key equipment was supplied by the famous manufacturers of the world. The plant reached the advanced level in 1990s and was checked and accepted by the country in 2001.
