特异材料对矩形波导导波模式的影响

摘    要:基于马卡提里假设,推导了特异材料为外包层的矩形波导的模式特征方程。对外包层为ENG材料的矩形波导的Ex mn模研究表明,这种波导不仅支持横向振荡导模的存在,还支持x轴向上表面模的存在(当m=1,2时)。同时还发现,随着阶数m或n的增大,不同Ex mn模的色散曲线均向高频方向移动。绘制了各模式的空间电磁场分布,发现横向表面模的存在,使其电场能量主要局域在界面处,这些特性均异于常规材料矩形波导。

Abstract:Based on the Marcatili hypothesis,general mode Eigen equation of the rectangular waveguide with metamaterials as the cladding mode was deduced. Research on the Ex mn mode of the rectangular waveguide with ENG materials as the cladding mode shows that,this waveguide supports not only the existence of transverse oscillation guided modes,but also supports the existence of the surface modes on the x-axis( m = 1,2). With the order m or n increasing,different dispersion curves of Exmn modes moved to higher frequencies. Finally,the spatial field distribution of each mode was drawn,and we find due to the existence of the transverse surface modes,the energy of electrical field mainly localized at the interface.These characteristics are different from the rectangular waveguide of conventional materials.
