高双折射类椭圆纤芯光子晶体光纤设计与分析

摘    要:为了改善传统光纤灵敏度低、损耗高和非线性效应不易控制的问题,设计一种新型高双折射、低损耗和高非线性的类椭圆纤芯光子晶体光纤(PCF)结构。基于全矢量有限元法,通过COMSOL分析研究了光纤端面的空气孔直径和位置对双折射、限制损耗、模场特性和非线性等特性的影响。仿真结果表明:所设计的PCF结构在波长为1.550μm处的双折射率达1.918×10-3,x和y极化偏振方向的限制损耗分别为Lcx=1.6×10-3dB/km和Lcy=8.0×10-4dB/km,非线性系数达到9.4 km-1W-1,且满足单模传输,实现了高质量、高精度的光信号传输与传感。

Abstract:In order to solve the problems of low sensitivity,high loss and difficult control of nonlinear effect of traditional fiber,a novel elliptical core like photonic crystal fiber(PCF)structure with high birefringence,low loss and high nonlinearity is designed.Based on the full vector finite element method,the effects of the size and position of the air hole on the birefringence,confinement loss,mode field characteristics and nonlinearity of the fiber end face are analyzed by COMSOL.The simulation results show that the birefringence index of the PCF is 1.918×10-3at the wavelength of 1.550μm,the limiting loss of x and y polarization direction is Lcx=1.6×10-3dB/km and Lcy=8.0×10-4dB/km respectively,the nonlinear coefficient is 9.4 km-1W-1,and the single-mode transmission is satisfied.The high-quality and high-precision optical signal transmission and sensing are realized.
