一、城市特色的必然性基础本文着意于创造性背后的规律性或曰特色中的必然性的探讨，重点在这种必然性的源流之一的地域传统文化。趋同是不可逆转的大势，“与国际接轨”是不可避免的现实，但人的需求是多层次的，因而多元的现实社会中连光怪陆离的实例也并不罕见。论及城市特色的必然性，首先不是建立在人类的多元需求（包括审美的多元需求）上，而是建立在人类物质与社会存在的客观差异性中。对城市而言，尤其是建立在城市所处的地域的地理、气候及社会的固有的差异性中，我国城市规划规范中便附有建筑气候区划图（图1）。二、城市特色中…

City Characteristics and Exploration of Regional Culture

On the certainty of city characteristics, the authors are of the opinion that it is not founded on the multiple demand (including multiple aesthetic demand) of the human beings, but on the objective human material and social difference. So far as the city is concerned, it is founded on the innate geographical, climatic and social difference, in which the city is situated. From the three aspects of city characteristics--traditional regional factors, organization of the architectural heritage system of ancient cities, and exploration and recreation of the connotation of traditional architectural culture--the article dwells on the issue with concrete examples.
