The two poles of Western literature development are respectively original desire and reason . The former originates from ancient Greece and ancient Rome. The latter originates from Hebrew - Christianity literature. In the course of Western literature＇s development, it might lay particular stress on original desire in one time, while in another time it might lay particular stress on reason.
