关于生态城市的思考

城市是目前人类的主要居住形式,因此城市应是可居住和可持续的。生态城市是对城市环境的一种新的诠释。这种新的诠释包括两个方面:城市与周围环境的统一、城市本身的景观。这就要求区域规划和城市规划能周全地考虑资源、建造时间上和空间上的桥梁,在城市与周围环境之间、城市内部不同的体系之间建立联接点,创造可持续的人居环境。

Thinking on Eco-city

Eco-city represents a new paradigm for the urban environment. Cities are where most populations in the developed countries live, andwhere, within a few years, most of the world's population will live. So cities must be both habitable and sustainable. The new paradigm shouldthus relate to two major aspects:(1)the integration of the city with the surrounding landscape;and(2) the urban landscape itself. It thusdemands regional and urban planning that carefully considers resources and builds bridges in space and time. It should also establishconnections and networks between the city and its surroundings, and within the city between the different urban systems. It therefore requiresa systematic and transdisciplinary approach. The focus of the discussion here is the city itself, emphasizing certain resources and bridges thaturban planning should enhance and establish, so that cities can become eco-cities, viable and sustainable places for human habitation.
