| Abstract: | The superfluid transition of a helium film is discussed in the framework of the phenomenological Landau-Ginzburg-Pitaevskii theory. In order to obtain agreement with experiments, it turns out to be essential to check the film solutions of the Ginzburg-Pitaevskii differential equation for stability. |
