Abstract:The stress corrosion cracking (SCC) behavior of U-ring-like X52 steel specimens in the corrosive medium containing H2S/CO2 was investigated based on scanning electron microscopy and X-ray diffraction, and the SCC mechanism of the steel was discussed. Results show that the hrittle fracture of X52 steel is attributed to the absorption of H atoms in corrosive environment and followup diffusion and enrichment at the location with large stress.
