The Present Situation of National Mineral Resources Conditions Investigation and Appraisal (NMRCIA) and Its Supporting Technological Systems in the New Development Stage, China

The fourth National Mineral Resources Conditions Investigation and Appraisal (NMRCIA) has been carried out in the new development stage in China. The main task for NMRCIA is to investigate the mineral resources clearly by means of investigating and verifying the amount, quantity, structure and space distribution for the identified mineral resources, and to assess the potential mineral resources. The achievements from NMRCIA will provide the foundation and support for the implementation of national strategical decision smoothly. The work progress for NMRCIA has been outlined in this paper. It is necessary that NMRCIA in the new development stage will be forcefully supported by the technological systems in order to improve the quality and efficiency of achievements and data. Up to now, the relatively complete technological systems for NMRCIA with Chinese characteristic has been formed. Several characteristics of the technological system for NMRCIA have been embodied such as system integrity, advanced technology, inter-discipline integrated, openness and transparency, and Standardization. Some countermeasures and suggestions have been put forward such as the application of intelligent identification, big data mining, blockchain technology, strengthening the technological training, refreshing and improving the technological system for NMRCIA.
