Comparison of Effluent Standards of Thermal Power Plants in China and India

This paper contrasts differences between effluent standards of thermal power plants in China and India.By discussing environmental protection history backgrounds,status quo and requirements,it analyzes application possibilities for China’s environmental protection design standards in India’s projects.It analyzes these two countries’ effluent standards in aspects of air,water and noise,points out that the differences of social culture,environment and economic development level of the two countries result in differences of the effluent standards.It advises that other than enforcement of government policies,a guide model of market inspiration should be brought into play for satisfying requirements of effluent standards.
