Abstract: | Because of the need to increase the reliability of electrical supplies, the requirements imposed on the controllability of
the power system are increasing. This requires the introduction of devices which enable the voltage regulation range (normalization)
to be extended, and necessitates increasing the stability of the power system. One the of the effective methods for the flexible
control of the modes of operation of the power system is the use of asynchronous turbogenerators and compensators. The characteristics
and advantages of such turbogenerators and compensators and their technical characteristics are considered and experience
with their use is described.
