| Abstract: | Baosteel, the largest and most modernized premium steel production base in China with the most complete varieties and the most state-of-the-art process technologies as well as the R＆D base for new process, new technologies and new material of steel industry, has ascended to the rank of leading steelmakers in the world. In July 2006, US ＂Fortune＂ magazine published the annual ranking of Fortune Global 500, in which Baosteel ranked No. 296, 13 positions up from last year. During S＆P＇s review of corporate credit rating in December 2006, Baosteel got a credit rating of A-, which is also the highest rating achieved by Baosteel since 1997. |
