Diode-pumped solid state laser radar technology and its applications

Diode\|pumped solid state laser radar is a pivot technology in imaging laser radar. It has advantages of small bulk and lower cost, and uses the laser with high repetition rate, high peak value power and APD with high sensitivity. In the light of scanning method, the imaging technology can be divided into scan and non\|scan imaging. Most systems adopt direct detection method. The laser radar has most potential applications in the civil and military area. State\|of\|the\|art of the diode\|pumped solid state laser radar technology and its applications are introduced briefly in the paper. The applications include precise guidance, wind velocity measurement and helicopters collision\|avoidance. Some of the key techniques are outlined on the basis of several typical laser radars.
