| Abstract: | This paper describes criteria, basic principles and method for selection of optimal support used in the mining section and its parameters. Based on investigation made in more than 300 gateways in 62 mining administrations in China, the paper summarizes our experience with using supports in Chinese mines for many years. An expert system for choosing optimal gateway support and its parameters has been developed based on the results of simulation, mechanical calculation, field research and application of manual intelligent technique in modern computer science. It is proved by field data that this system is very useful in practice. |
