Abstract: | A newly synthesized oxadiazol-triazole derivative (TOMP), was investigated as corrosion inhibitor of mild steel in 0.5 M H2SO4 solution using weight loss measurements, polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) methods. Results obtained revealed that TOMP is effective corrosion inhibitor for mild steel in sulphuric acid and its efficiency attains more than 97.6% at 298 K. The number of water molecules (X) replaced by a molecule of organic adsorbate was determined from the substitutional adsorption isotherms applied to the data obtained from the weight loss experiments performed on mild steel specimen in acidic solution in the 298-333 K range. |
