| 摘 要： | 叙述了基于MapInfo建立地理信息系统地图符号库的必要性和意义，提出了利用MapInfo的二次开发工具MapBasic4．0和计算机图形学理论进行地图符号库的设计与开发的一种方法，可以有效地减少原有MapInfo下符号化的烦琐工作流程，降低地图符号化工作的劳动强度，提高了制图的自动化程度，在工程实践中具有重要意义． |

| Abstract: | In this paper, it demonstrates the necessity and significance of the base for cartographic symbols topographic maps application to GIS on the base of MapInfo, to develop the base for visual cartographic symbols topographic maps on the base of MapInfo with tools of MapBasic which is a kind of program language to develop MapInfo. |
