Abstract: | Corrosion inhibition efficiency of Ocimum sanctum extract for mild steel in hydrochloric acid solution was studied by weight
loss and thermometric methods. Inhibition efficiency increases with the increasing concentration of extract and decreases
with increase in acid strength. Results of inhibition efficiency obtained by two methods have been found in good agreements
with each other. Maximum inhibition efficiency was found 98.67% in 0.5 N HCl acid with 1.2% stem extract, whereas it was 96.02%
in leaves extract with same concentration i.e. 1.2%. |
