Abstract: | The influence exerted by three types of failure criterion on the shape and direction of crack propagation in the brittle material is considered. The crack development was simulated by the finite-element method. The Huber - Mises, Drucker - Prager, and PJ failure criteria were applied to the materials whose characteristics corresponded to concrete or rocks. |
