Given the impact of economic downturn and cost rise, brewage market performance was declined in 2008. Certain leading breweries's output, sales volume and profit were all impacted. However, with the policies on stimulating domestic demand, tax reduction, state investment, and increasing people's income implementing, the impact of the crisis on China brewing industry is actually limited. Especially, thank for rapid development of central and western area, in addition to urbanization, in the first ten months of 2008, China brewing industry continued to increased by 6.43% and the output reached 36.45 million tons. The crisis brings about challenges and pressure that are no same before. The main impacts are on development rate and output. In the last quarter of 2008, although export was impacted, domestic selling price still rose stably. As fast moving consumer goods, beer consumption per capita in China has considerable potential, therefore, the current recession will not last. The current low consumption is mainly caused by the gap between urban and rural areas, also the gap between western and eastern aras. But China is taking efforts to solve the problem and stimulate consumption. Moreover, the integration in China beer industry is accelerating, largesized manufacturers' influence strengthens and the potential of profit is immense. Additionally, price fall of international grains and bumper harvest of China in recent will give rise to the cost of raw materials reducing.
