Research on the Applicable Height of Column-Supported Modular Steel Building Structure Systems

As an emerging building system,the modular building possesses a high degree of prefabrication and assembly,which corresponds to the requirements of industrialization and green building development.However,most domestic modular buildings are only used in low-rise buildings,there is a great significance to explore the design method and applicable range of multi-story as well as high-rise modular buildings.This paper focuses on the column-supported modular steel building(MSB)structure systems.According to different lateral resisting systems,some typical structure systems are classified and introduced briefly.Considering the unique composition of MSB compared with the traditional structure,the characteristics and modeling methods are also discussed.The finite element analysis software MIDAS/Gen is used to establish a large number of analytical models,to explore the change rule of the calculation results of various structural systems under different seismic fortification intensities and building heights,and compare with the requirements of the Standard.Finally,the applicable heights for different lateral resisting systems are summarized and some design recommendations are also proposed for column-supported MSB.
